Hi all!
If you are expecting a new blog post today, I’m sorry to disappoint, but you are going to have to wait for a bit. I’ve decided to take a sabbatical for the month of June.
Last year, I did a sabbatical in August and it was really helpful for me. It gave me some time to do some reading and think through some new blog post ideas. It also just gave me a rest, which I think is a really biblical concept. God encourages us to have a day of rest, a Sabbath, so I think he must also be a fan of taking sabbaticals when that’s possible.
Originally, I was going to do my sabbatical in August again, but then I started looking at my calendar and realized that June was going to be a much better month to take off. I have vacation coming up (yay!), my parents are going to be in town (also yay!) and I’ve got some big projects and such coming up in my day job that are taking a lot of creative energy. It just seemed like a natural time to take a break.
During this time, I’m not going to be adding any new blog posts. I’ll probably also be limiting my social media posting to things I just feel like posting rather than keeping up my regular rhythms. I might even just sign off on all social media for the month or part of the month (I haven’t quite nailed that down yet).
Regardless, I will be back in July. Until then, I hope you also get some rest now that most of the world is starting to get into the summer rhythm.
